  • Phillip Hamilton

    Dr. Phillip Hamilton is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of History at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. A historian of Virginia and the American Revolution, he is the author of The Making and Unmaking of a Revolutionary Family: The Tuckers of Virginia, 1752-1830 (Charlottesville: University of Virginia Press, 2003). His book explores the political, intellectual, and social transformations that swept the Old Dominion in the decades following the Revolution. Dr. Hamilton has also published articles in William and Mary Quarterly and Virginia Magazine of History and Biography. He is currently completing his second book which examines the history of Christopher Newport University and the evolution of higher education in the late-20th and early 21st centuries. He received his B.A. from Gettysburg College and his M.A. from George Washington University and Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.

  • Gerson Moreno-Riano

    Dr. Gerson Moreno-Riaño is an Associate Professor of Government at Regent University where he also serves as Chair of the Department of Government and Director of General Education. Dr. Moreno-Riaño has a distinguished scholarly career including serving as an Academic Fellow in the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a Fellow in the Center for the Study of Democratic Citizenship at the University of Cincinnati, and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Medieval Studies, Central European University (Budapest). In 2008, Dr. Moreno-Riaño was invited to inaugurate the Iwata Distinguished Lectures in Politics, Economics, and Christian Ethics at Biola University with five endowed lectures. Dr. Moreno-Riaño's areas of expertise include the history of political philosophy with a special emphasis in early modern political ideas, democratic theory, and political theology and ethics. Dr. Moreno-Riaño's publications include five authored/edited books as well as numerous chapters and journal articles in peer-reviewed books and academic journals. His latest publications include the edited The World of Marsilius of Padua (Brepols, 2007) and the co-authored The Prospect of Internet Democracy (Ashgate, 2009). In 2007, Dr. Moreno-Riaño was the runner-up in ISI's Templeton Culture of Enterprise contest for his article "Natural Law and Modern Economic Theory." Dr. Moreno-Riaño is a member of the American Political Science Association, the Renaissance Society of America, and the Association for Political Theory. He has an earned Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Pre-Seminary Biblical Studies from Cedarville University, and a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati.

  • Lee Trepanier

    Dr. Trepanier is a professor of Political Science at Saginaw Valley State University. He received his B.A from Maquette University and followed that by acquiring his M.A. and Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. He has recently published a book, Political Symbols in Russian History: Church, State, and the Quest for Order and Justice (Lanham, Maryland: Lexington Publishing Company, 2007) that presents an analytical and comprehensive account of Russian history and politics between the years of 988 to 2005 and traces the development, evolution, and impact that political symbols have had on Russian society. Dr. Trepanier has also published several articles, chapters, and essays including several entries in the Encyclopedia of Modern Christian Politics, (edited by Roy P. Domenico and Mark Y. Hanley.
