Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, is accepting applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the Department of History, Philosophy, Religion and Legal Studies beginning August 2010.
Responsibilities: Teach eight courses per year (fall and spring semesters); introductory and upper division courses; small class sizes; undergraduate only. Summer teaching available, but not required.
Qualifications: Area of Specialization (AOS): open, but not ethics or philosophy of religion. Areas of Concentration (AOC): areas that complement existing program strengths. Ph.D. in hand required. Annual contract renewal leading to tenure review is contingent upon successful progress toward tenure in the areas of teaching, professional achievement, and service. Review of applications will begin December 6, 2009 and will continue until the position is filled.
